<p>PURPOSE: To provide an adaptive type DPCM coder for supplying DPCM signals provided with a minimum bit rate and exerting visible influence on image quality. CONSTITUTION: At least two predictors 5 and 6 for supplying prediction values obtained by different standards, a variable word length coder 8 and a control circuit 9 are provided for quantization as precise as possible. The control circuit operation-connects predetermined quantizers 1, 2, 3 and 4 and predetermined predictors 5 and 6 depending on the full level of a buffer memory 7, present quantizers 1, 2, 3 and 4 and present predictors 5 and 6.</p> |
