PURPOSE:To generate compression control information with fixed length to continuous/discontinuous character strings and to reduce the amount of using memory at the time of a compression processing by means of a system editing information into a fixed length work area. CONSTITUTION:The retrieval of continuous characters is started from 1a in data being the object of compression 1. When the continuous character string is detected at 1b, information 1 is generated with the character string 1 as a discontinuous character. Then, the retrieval of the discontinuous character is started from 1b. Since the discontinuous character is detected at 1c, information 2 is generated with a character string 2 as the continuous character string. The above processing is executed until the end of data, and compression control information 4 is edited into the fixed length work area 2. One piece of final information in the area is set to be unprocessed data information and unprocessed data information being the object of compression is generated. |
