<p>PURPOSE:To move a sensor to determine the kind and depth of a circuit, determine the horizontal origin position of each circuit according to the presence or absence of symmetry in actual measurement value distribution, and easily and sensitively confirm the circuit position. CONSTITUTION:A sensor S is moved to determine a line where the horizontal and vertical flux densities BH, BV of an underground buried circuit are maximum as a circuit orthogonal direction. The sensor S is moved in this direction, the data is transmitted to a BV, BH measurement value distribution generating storing means 8 through vertical and horizontal coils LV LH-a controller 1, and density BV, BH maximum points are extracted 9. From the measurement value distribution, a peak point P of energy distribution is determined to determine 10 an approximate origin position.
