<p>PURPOSE: To further reduce transmission data by detecting a block to be encoded for a moving image to be intra-screen encoded among still images or the moving images and pattern block similar to it and performing block DPCM (differential pulse code modulation). CONSTITUTION: The screen data of intra-screen encoding among the still images or the moving images are inputted to a block division part 31 and divided into N×N blocks. Then, the mode data M of a mode decision part 41 and the displacement vector DV of a displacement estimation part 39 are coupled in a mode displacement vector coupling part 42 and mode - displacement vector data M-D are outputted. At the time of a PCM mode, for the data M-D, the data M are only '0' and no data DV are present. Also, at the time of a DPCM mode, the data M-D are composed of the '1' of the data M and a vector DV calculated by the estimation part 39. A variable length encoding part 34 outputs PCM(pulse code modulation) or DPCM data variable length encoded in the mode and the coupling part 42 outputs the data M-D. In such a manner, the code data of encoder output are transmitted and impressed to a reception side encoder.</p> |
