PURPOSE:To detect feature points in a picture at a high speed by executing an entire processing for detecting the feature points by a hardware synchronously with a clock signal. CONSTITUTION:An address generating means generates scanning address information changing synchronously with a clock signal, and impresses it to a picture memory means. A serial/parallel converting means inputs time-sequential picture data read out of the picture memory means synchronously with the clock signal, and simultaneously outputs the picture data at plural picture element positions. Then, a differential value detecting means 232 outputs a density change, and a differential value holding means 253 holds the value. A differential value comparing means 271 compares values outputted from the differential value detecting means 232 and the differential value holding means 253, and a differential value comparing means 272 compares the values outputted by the differential value holding means 253 and a differential value holding means 263. A feature point identifying means identifies whether or not the picture data at the scanning position are the feature points based on the output signals of the differential value comparing means 271 and 272. |
