<p>PURPOSE:To determine efficient prescribed time Tc and packet volume (n) by providing a device which controls the traffic volume of packets of each call flowing into a buffer based on the prescribed time Tc as a prescribed time length and the packet volume (n) allowed within the time Tc with respect to each terminal. CONSTITUTION:A number N of VCCs being in course of communication and a VCC/VPC speed ratio (=VCR) at the time of traffic congestion are detected by detecting parts 201 and 202. A multiplex characteristic calculating circuit 206 calculates and outputs a required cell abandonment rate based on these data, a buffer capacity C stored in a buffer capacity storage part 204, the prescribed time Tc, and the control number (n) of cells. A discriminating circuit 207 discriminates this abandonment rate by a cell abandonment rate B preliminarily stored in a cell abandonment prescribed quality storage part 205; and when a prescribed quality is satisfied, Tc and (n) are outputted for congestion control. If the prescribed quality is not satisfied, Tc is changed to repeat the calculation till it is satisfied. Thus, efficient time Tc and volume (n) are determined.</p> |
