PURPOSE:To provide a laminate type core of a magnetic head used in the system of VTR, etc., driven in a high frequency band. CONSTITUTION:This laminate type core of a magnetic head has a structure obtd. by alternately laminating soft magnetic thin films 12 of Fe-(Ta, Nb, Zr, Hf)-N each having 0.2-10mum thickness and high saturation magnetic flux density and nonmagnetic insulating films 13 each having several ten to several hundred nm thickness on the nonmagnetic substrate 11 and also has layers exhibiting high permeabilities in different directions in the surfaces of the soft magnetic thin films of Fe-Ta-N adjacent to each other through one of the nonmagnetic insulating films. This core can ensure high saturation magnetic flux density and intrasurface isotropic high permeability characteristics in a high frequency band as a whole. |
