PURPOSE:To obtain compatible musical performance data by converting stroke strength information into reference stroke strength information by a converting means at the time of a keyboard musical performance and according it as the musical performance data. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 10 reads a key number KC and touch strength information ST out of a touch data generating circuit 3 and writes the respective read data KC and ST in work registers in a RAM 9. At this time, the CPU 10 converts the touch strength information ST into corresponding address data and supplies the data to a ROM 8. The ROM 8 is stored with a conversion table and the reference touch strength information NT correspondig to the touch strength information ST is read out. Thus, the touch strength information ST is converted into the reference touch strength information NT, which is written as the musical performance data in a buffer memory in the RAM 9. Further, the contents of a time counter 12 are written following the key number KC and reference touch strength information NT. Therefore, the compatible musical performance data can be recorded.
