PURPOSE:To exactly detect the information of the feature points of both an object at a long distance and the object at a short distance in a picture at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with feature information generating means 154 and 155 whose reference area sizes are different from each other, scanning area recognizing means 158 which identifies which area of more than two areas a scanning position in a picture belongs to, and an information processing means which selects one of the two pairs of feature information generating means according to the area identified by the scanning area recognizing means, and processes the information of a point under consideration based on the feature information outputted by the selected feature information generating means. |
