<p>PURPOSE: To execute general resolution conversion by managing conversion from a set of the picture elements of input pictures provided with a first resolution to a set of output pictures provided with a second resolution, communicating the respective sets with a memory and relating an input picture element to one output picture element. CONSTITUTION: The respective sets of rules are programmed by the form of an appropriate software used by a CPU. Desired resolution conversion is obtained at the time of communicating with a conversion part 154 by using one of specified resolution conversion R1 , R2 ,... Rn or a resolution conversion selector 158. Then, the resolution conversion to be executed is selected in the resolution conversion selector 158 and the input pictures of the first resolution are preserved in the memory 152. Then, the N rows of the input pictures are simultaneously transferred to a processor 160, the resolution conversion is executed by referring to the selected set of state decision rules and the output picture elements of the second resolution are obtained. Then, the converted output picture elements are preserved inside the memory 152 and then, transferred to one of a printer, the other output and a different memory part.</p> |
