PURPOSE:To perform rounding arithmetic and clipping at high speed and to reduce circuit scale. CONSTITUTION:This circuit is provided with a decision circuit 20 to directly input a carry value E to a digit corresponding to a high-order digit group for performing clipping to be generated at the time of performing the rounding arithmetic to input data A and input data (A8-A12) of digits corresponding to the high-order digit group to perform clipping and circuits 202-209 to output decision signals (D0 and D1) by deciding a certain specified input pattern at the decision circuit 20 and to forcedly turn output data B to a constant corresponding to the decision signals (D0 and D1). On the other hand, AND circuits 11 and 12 calculate the carry value E to the digit corresponding to the high- order digit group for performing clipping to be generated at the time of performing the rounding arithmetic. |
