PURPOSE: To provide a compact high power factor power supply circuit by arranging first and second filter capacitors in series when they are charged with a rectified voltage and inserting the first and second filter capacitors into a parallel discharge path when energy is discharged to a load. CONSTITUTION: A circuit 106 receives an AC voltage from an AC power supply circuit and a circuit 112 generates a rectified voltage from the AC voltage. A filter network 130 filters a DC voltage VDC and supplies a load 102 with a filtered voltage. The filter network 130 comprises FCC1 , C2 which are charged with the DC voltage VDC through a charging path including a resistor R, a p-n diode PN or other unidirectional current valve 132. Furthermore, a PN or other unidirectional current valves 134, 136. The PN 134 forms a discharge path for the filter capacitor C1 and the PN 136 forms a parallel discharge path for the filter capacitor C2 . A resistor R suppresses harmonic distortion of AC input current IAC. |
