Sepn. and grading of solids

Solid substances are graded by introducing the particles into a gas flow of given speed in which they are caught, accelerated and transported with the gas flow. The particles are then exposed to a force which allows them to change direction when the speed of the gas flow is reduced and the speed of the gas flow is so reduced that the particles are allowed to change direction and are deposited at graded intervals which depend upon the acceleration and rate of descent, which in turn depend upon the gas speed.The sepn. system (1) has a number of chambers (K1, K2, K3, K4). A high speed lamina flow of gas (3) passes through a falling stream of solids (6) which accelerate and are graded in the respective chambers. The gas is continually recirculated by a fan (4) assembly.
