The automatic feeding device (41) discharging into a trough (42) is mounted on the wall of the stable (2) in front of the horse (1) and away from a manure pit (7) covered with a grating (8).Horizontal optical barriers (11,12) above and below the grating are connected to a computer (31) which authorises release of a small quantity of fodder when these are broken in the right sequence.
