Flux for producing residue-free soldered joints

A flux (I) for producing soldered joints is claimed, contg. a carboxylic acid and solvent. (I) contains at least one carboxylic acid (II) with at least one COOH gp. and at least one heteroatom in a linear and/or cyclic system.Pref. (I) contains the reaction prod. of a carboxylic acid anhydride, esp. a dicarboxylic acid anhydride, pref. contg. heteroatom(s) with a polyfunctional alcohol (III), and also a solvent, pref. an alcohol, esp. pref. isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Pref., (I) contains carboxylic, esp. dicarboxylic, acid(s) as defined above (II), esp. oxo-, thio- or imino-dicarboxylic acid(s) or anhydride(s).
