An adjustable seat has adjustable seating and back parts (36 and 38) which are both adjustable, in particular by shifting the body. The seating part (36) and the back part (38) are swivellingly linked to each other at facing ends by at least one first, freely floating hinge (40 and 39), and are swivellingly suspended on a support (23) at spots spaced apart from the first hinge (40 and 39) by means of at least first and second carrying elements movably mounted by means of forced guides (26, 27) along a path determined by the latter. For that purpose, the first and/or second carrying elements (30, 31) have a lever suspended on the support (23) by means of the first and/or second forced guides (26, 27). The lever is linked to the seating and back parts (36 and 38) by means of a lever or hinge mechanism, so that limited relative displacements between the first and/or second carrying elements (30, 31) on the one hand and the seating and/or back part on the other hand are made possible. |
