EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR COMBUSTION GASES FOR A GAS TURBINE

The invention relates to an exhaust system for combustion gases from a gas turbine or the like, wherein one end of an exhaust pipe is connected to a gas turbine. The other end of the exhaust pipe is connected to a heat exchanger, and a branch pipe, which extends transversely to the exhaust pipe, is connected to the exhaust pipe. A valve is pivotable about a pivot axis extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the exhaust pipe, between a first position, in which said valve extends at least substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the exhaust pipe and the end of the branch pipe connecting to the exhaust pipe is closed, and a second position, in which the branch pipe is in open communication with the exhaust pipe and the exhaust pipe downstream of the branch pipe is closed. The pivot axis of at least a portion of said valve means is arranged near the downstream side of the branch pipe, whilst upstream of said pivot axis a curved guiding surface is provided.
