SAFETY DEVICE FOR A VALVE INSERT IN A BEVERAGE BARREL

A safety device is disclosed for a valve insert in the outlet of a beverage barrel under pressure. Known safety devices for a valve insert in the outlet opening of a beverage barrel under pressure, in particular a beer barrel, have a housing (3, 7), a riser pipe (8), a bottom plate (14), an outer pressure spring (13) supported on the bottom plate (14) and on a sealing body (5), and at least one locking element (15) swivellingly clamped between the outer pressure plate (13) and the bottom plate (14), so that it is deflected with respect to the barrel outlet (45) during insertion in the axial direction and engages the inner edge (46) thereof from behind in the working position. In oder to simplify the whole design while maintaining its safety, and above all to allow the whole safety device to be more easily designed as a module, the locking element (15) is designed as a double bend with an outwardly projecting portion, a slanting part and an inner projection. The outwardly projecting portion is mounted in a trapezoidal recess of the bottom plate (14), the riser pipe (8) has a conically enlarged part (9) between its lower part, which has a small diameter, and its upper part (10), which has a larger diameter, and is located in the housing (3, 7). The conically enlarged part (9) is located at a greater distance from the inner projection (24) of the locking element (15) than the normal opening stroke of the riser pipe (8).
