A process for producing aluminium cans for beverages or foodstuffs has the following steps: coating pure aluminium rounds (10) with a soap-based lubricant; extruding the rounds (10) into cups (20); drawing the cups (20) into raw cans (30), at the same time as the bottom is shaped; cutting the raw cans (30) into sections; cleaning the cut raw cans by washing with a mildly alkaline aqueous cleaning agent, rinsing and drying them; if required, coating the inside and/or printing the outside of the cut and cleaned raw cans; if required, slanging and flanging the cut and cleaned cans into finished cans (40). The cans (40) produced according to this process have a minimal wall thickness determined by the resistance of the material and by the can resistance requirements in the area of both wall and bottom, as well as in the transition area between wall and bottom. |
