Spot-welding electrode holder and actuator unit

The spot-welding electrode holder has at least two electrodes (8,9) and at least one actuator unit (7) allowing the electrodes to be moved relative to one another between an initial position and a welding position. The electrodes are pressed against the components (10,11) which undergo welding with a force produced by the actuator unit (7) provided with an adjusting element. The electrode holder is characterized in that at least one actuator unit (7) has another adjusting element in the form of a piezoelectric element producing at least one controllable component of the electrode force in the electrode closure position.Pref. the electrode force in the welding position is attained by superimposing the force produced by the piezoelectric element on the force produced by the first adjustment element.
