A rail for a flanged wheel of a motorised loading pallet (e.g. used for carrying cars) with electrical insulation between the two, is made from a hollow section with a foot (17) to mount on a base and a conducting strip (10) along the top to supply the motor. For double-flanged wheels (2), the strip is in the centre (either full width or part width) but for single-flanged wheels, the strip lies abuts the rail edge on the non-flange side. It may be recessed into the rail, or, for double-flanged wheels, it stands proud and the wheels have a central groove to give sufficient clearance.
