The machine incorporates carriages (5) which are individually adjustable to change the winding width between the winding arms (19,21) of each individual winding station (1,2,3). Also, to clamp and release the holders (29) for the winding tubes (31), on the linear guides (7) of the transverse support bar (8).The crossbar (33) is clamped with one end in one winding arm (19), while the other end is axially freely moveable in the associated second winding arm (21). A single cylinder-piston unit (16) is provided to load/release the winding arms of individual winding stations.
