A process for preparing a foamed article from a propylene resin in a mold comprising compressing pre-expanded particles of a propylene resin, filling the compressed particles into a mold and heating the particles with steam having a pressure smaller than filling pressure applied for compressing the pre-expanded particles. According to the present invention, a foamed article having a small dimentional shrinkage, an excellent fusibility and appearance of the surface can be easily prepared in good productivity, and the foamed article can be suitably used as cushioning materials and energy-absorbing materials such as core materials for bumpers of cars. |
