PURPOSE: To provide an airbag assembly making the power by a moving airbag distribute uniformly to a door, by taking such means as disposing a folded airbag in a container between the door and an inflator and as arranging the folded portions in the direction of the top and bottom of the airbag parallel to the expansion direction. CONSTITUTION: A folded airbag 10 is disposed in a container 130 between a door 140 and an inflator 160. When a vehicle collides, a high pressure gas from an inflator 160 is directed to the expansion direction 170 and introduced into an opening, thus the airbag 10 expands. In this moment, the longitudinally folded portions 80-120 of the top and bottom of the airbag 10 move one another to the door 140 because they are arranged parallel to the expansion direction 170. Then creases 102, 106, 110, 72, 68, 64 of the airbag each connect with the door 140. Accordingly the power by the moving airbag 10 are distributed uniformly to along the surface of the door 140. This performs the expansion of the airbag 10 with a good efficiency and appropriateness. |
