METHOD FOR REMOVING PROTECTING GROUP

PURPOSE:To provide a method for removing a protecting group in which a tri-substituted silyl group can efficiently be removed under mild conditions and the objective compound can be obtained in high yield at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:This method for removing a tri-substituted silyl group is to treat a beta-lactam compound having hydroxyl group protected with the tri- substituted silyl group with a fluoride selected from (a) an alkali metallic fluoride, (b) an alkaline earth metallic fluoride and (c) hydrofluoride of an inorganic or an organic amine and an acid.
