PRODUCTION OF ETCHED POLYESTER FIBER FABRIC

PURPOSE:To provide a method for readily producing polyester fiber fabric having an excellent designed pattern composed of an etched opal pattern and a printed pattern in combination. CONSTITUTION:A pattern is printed on polyester fiber fabric made of a modified polyester fiber and an unmodified polyester fiber with two or more kinds of sizing agents selected from a sizing agent containing a polyester embrittlement agent, a sizing agent containing a dye and a sizing agent containing both an embrittlement agent and a dye. Heat treatment is then applied thereto and the modified polyester fiber part printed with the embrittlement agent-containing sizing agent is subsequently etched in an aqueous alkaline solution. Thus, the objective production method of etched polyester fiber fabric is carried out characteristically by combining a pattern composed of unetched parts and etched parts of the modified polyester fiber with a pattern formed by printing dyes.
