<p>PURPOSE:To improve a ventilation and productivity in a cupola by using a formed hollow cake or iron core inserted formed coke as the coke used at the time of operating the cupola. CONSTITUTION:At the time of producing molten iron by using the cupola and steel scrap as the main raw material, the steel scrap and lamp coke are alternately fed into the cupola as layer-state, and by blowing the air from a lower tuyere, the steel scrap is melted by combustion heat of the coke to produce the molten iron by carburizing with the coke and the molten iron is tapped off. In this case, by using the formed coke having venting holes penetrating the inner part or the formed coke having the iron core penetrating the coke as the lump coke, the ventilation of coke layer is improved by the venting hole of the coke and the hollow Part by melting and flowing out the iron core. Therefore, the small granules having no ventilation which can not ordinarily be used, can be used as the steel scrap, and high pressure operation can be executed and blending ratio of the steel scrap in a low cost is improved and the molten iron can be produced in good productivity and the low cost.</p> |
