<p>PURPOSE:To extend a life of a thermal head itself and to reduce a frequency of replacements by effectively utilizing the head substantially over an entire length of an element region along an arraying direction of its heat generating elements. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head printer has a thermal head 7 having a heat generating band 8 in which many heat generating elements are arranged linearly at a predetermined pitch to form a lithographic pattern on a matter 2 to be formed by a lithography by passing the matter 2 between the head and a platen 5 arranged oppositely to the band 8 of the head 7, and comprises a thermal head moving mechanism 20 for moving the head 7 along an arraying direction of the elements of the band 8 of the head 7. Further, the pattern to be formed by the lithography on the band 8 is moved at the same distance as that of the pattern in a reverse direction to the moving direction of the pattern as the head 7 is moved.</p> |
