PURPOSE:To obtain a detergent composition reduced in skin irritation and excellent in detergency and lathering property by incorporating a specific compound and a specific surfactant. CONSTITUTION:The detergent composition comprises an alkenyl- or alkylsuccinic anhydride derivative (salt) which has sulfo, amide, and carboxyl groups in the molecule and is represented by formula I and/or II (wherein R is an 8-30C alkenyl or alkyl; R' is H or a 1-4C hydrocarbon group; M1 is an alkali metal, ammonium, a hydroxyammonium having a 2-3C hydroxyalkyl, or a lower alkylammonium) and a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 10-16 (e.g. polyoxyethylene lauryl ether). |
