For example, an inclined pan granulator is used, an expandable polystyrene bead is used as the core 1, a resin binder is sprayed on the core, and the core 1 is coated with a high-alumina fine powder as the coating material 2. The product is then air-dried, presintered and normally sintered to melt and thermally decompose the core 1, and a hollow aggregate is produced. The size of the hollow body, coating layer thickness, bulk density, mechanical strength, etc., are adjusted by changing the size of the core 1. Otherwise, the refractory material and binder are kneaded, the kneaded product is cupped, and the two cups are used as a set, opposed and adhered to each other to produce a hollow body. |
