<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a metallothermic reaction mixture which consists of a metal oxide, a metal that is more electronegative than the metal of the metal oxide, and, optionally, further additives and in which the individual components are present in the form of small particles. CONSTITUTION: In the reaction mixture, >=20 wt.% of the metal oxide is present in the form of spherical particles having >0 to 3.0 mm particle size. By using this metallothermic reaction mixture, the stabilization and homogeneity of the progress of the reaction can be attained. Further, this mixture is economical because it can be obtained by recycling.</p> |
