<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a novel compound useful as an agent for preventing and treating arrhythmia caused by cardiac diseases such as cardiac infarction and cardiac failures, because of its strong antiarrtfythmic action of the class III. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formula I (X is NO2, H; R is H, 1-5C alkyl; Y is NO2, NH2; Z is CH3, S, etc.; (n) is 2-4; (m) is 1-3) and its salt, e.g., N-[3-(N- ethyl-N-(2-phenylethyl)amino]propyl]phthalimide. For example, the compound of formula I wherein X is H is obtained by reacting an amine compound of formula II with a bromide compound of formula III in the presence of a base such as potassium carbonate in a solvent such as DMF at 50-150 deg.C, and subsequently reacting the produced compound of formula IV with an alkyl chloride of the formula: RCl in the presence of a base such as potassium carbonate in a solvent such as DMF at 80-120 deg.C.</p> |
