It comprises an immersion roller 7 and a metering roller 9, both provided with supports 11, 15 at their ends, and it is characterized in that it comprises means 12, 13 for adjusting the minimum distance between the supports 11, 15 of both rollers, and automatic-displacement means 10, 14 for bringing said supports together to the minimum distance set by the adjustment means 12, 13 and for separating them until the two rollers lose contact. It makes it possible automatically to separate the immersion roller and the metering roller upon shutdown of the machine and automatically to re-establish the appropriate pressure between both rollers when printing restarts. <IMAGE>
