The stirring mechanism has an electric motor displacing the saucepan carrier through a drive train that ensures a swirling motion of the saucepan. The mechanism has a base plate (13) that carries the ring that supports the saucepan (12). The ring is mounted to the base plate by eccentric posts (7) that are driven in rotation by the motor, through a reduction gear (14). The motor is in a housing (16) at the opposite end of the base plate, and has a control knob (17) to adjust the speed.
