The invention relates to a mowing device provided with a frame and with a number of mowing components which are connected to the frame and can rotate about shafts which extend upwards. Beneath the mowing components, there are support members which rest on the ground during operation and can be adjusted at least partially in the vertical direction with respect to the mowing components. A support member is connected to a hydraulically acting adjustment mechanism, which is disposed at the level of the support member, and with the aid of which the support member can be adjusted at least partially in the vertical direction. Pressurized liquid can be fed to the adjustment mechanism via a hole which is made in the shaft of the mowing component. The hydraulically acting adjustment mechanism is preferably disposed in the space below the mowing component and above the support member.
