PURPOSE:To obtain thermal recording paper excellent in background preservability by successively laminating an intermediate layer and a thermal recording layer on the single surface of raw paper containing a specific size agent, a specific fixing agent and a specific amt. of calcium carbonate. CONSTITUTION:A pulp slurry to which 0.2-1.5% by wt. of pulp of neutral rosin being a sizing agent and 0.2-2.0% by wt. of pulp of aluminum sulfate being a fixing agent for the sizing agent are added is formed into paper containing 2-20wt.% of calcium carbonate by a papermaking process. An aqueous soln. of a water-soluble polymeric compd. to which baked kaolin is added is prepared as a coating soln. for an intermediate layer. An electron donating dye and an electron acceptive developer are added to the aqueous soln. of the water-soluble polymeric compd. under stirring to prepare a coating soln. for a thermal recording layer. The coating soln. for the intermediate layer is applied to the single surface of the raw paper and dried to form the intermediate layer. The coating soln. for the thermal recording layer is applied to the intermediate layer and dried to laminate the thermal recording layer to obtain thermal recording paper. |
