STATIC DRY SEAL

Static Dry Seal An improved dry gas seal, which is suitable for use in rotating machinery such as compressors, is disclosed. The present seal is less prone to failure at "start-up" (i.e. initial operation of the rotating machinery) than conventional dry gas seals. The present seal is characterized by the use of two passages which permit a flow of gas to be directed at an O-ring contained within the seal.
