The ball nut and screw assembly comprises a screw including an outer surface having a thread formed on it, a nut including an opening formed through it defining an inner surface having a thread formed on it, the nut further including first and second apertures formed through it extending from the nut thread to an outer surface of the nut. A number of balls is disposed in both of the screw thread and the nut thread and a device for recirculating the balls between the first and second apertures. It has a member for recirculating including a skirt deflector disposed within each of the apertures, at least one of the skirt deflectors including a flange portion, a skirt portion extending from the flange portion, and a pick-up finger extending from the skirt portion. A step is defined between the skirt portion and the pick-up finger, the pick-up finger extending into the nut thread to deflect the balls into and out of the apertures. |
