The invention relates to a golf-club head comprising a body (1) and a face insert (2) arranged in a housing (4) made on the front part of the body, the said insert being secured in the housing by means of a layer of adhesive (5) interposed between the inner face (20) of the insert and the base (40) of the housing. The inner face (20) and the base are distant from each other and separated by one (or more) bearing means (60, 61, 62) so as to create a stable support for the insert (2) in the housing (4) and to provide a substantially constant thickness (e) of adhesive between the inner face (20) and the base (40) of the housing. <IMAGE>
