Method for manufacturing an absorbent article of curved shape, such as a sanitary dressing. In one embodiment (Fig. 16), the method consists of placing the components of the absorbent article on a curved surface 104 and in connecting them while they are in this curved configuration. In another embodiment, the absorbent article is curved by stretching an elastically extendible component of the absorbent article and connecting the extendible component to another component while the extendible component is stretched and then allowing the stretched component to contract. The absorbent article is thus curved without the use of separate elastic threads. <IMAGE>
