The cardboard blank for the formation of a package for elongated flat objects comprises a one-piece cardboard strip which is subdivided by previously impressed fold lines running transversely to the strip into a plurality of sections, namely a bottom (1), a top (2), an intermediate part (3) and an auxiliary bottom (4). Provided in the fold lines (F3) and (F4) of the intermediate part are hole-shaped punchings (6) and indentations (5), respectively, which in the folded state of the blank form pockets for the introduction of the objects to be packaged. The cardboard blank produces a reliable, extremely environmentally friendly package. <IMAGE>
