The bearing (15) for the end (18) of the shaft is formed in one unit with its casing (16) and seal (19). The unit is supported on the inner flange (6) of the force transducer by the casing alone. The transducer is secured by an outer flange to the frame (14) of the machine with fixing screws.The ball-bearing on the opposite side of the inner flange has an inner ring (17) supporting the shaft of the measuring roller (13).
