Conveyor for separating items into separate subflows

The stream of items on the conveyor is divided simply by having parallel strips of conveyor (3a, 3b, 3c) tilted to either side, with the middle strip horizontal. This splits the items to pass between the dividers (5) with a minimum of hindrance and with a minimum of bumping. The width of the strips and the staggered splitting is selected to suit the size of the items and the width of the feed flow.The amount of tilting is determined by the friction grip between the items and the strips and the weight of the items. The tilting is adjustable to process different items.
