A suture holding member is provided having a flat bottom section and member disposed on one side of the bottom section for holding the suture displaying the needle on the side. A portion of the flat bottom section underlies the needle and is deflectable out of the plane of the flat bottom section and a protective sleeve member enclosing the suture holding member. The sleeve has a top, bottom, and two longitudinal sides connecting the top and bottom. The bottom has a deflectable portion underlying the deflectable portion of said suture holding member. |
