PURPOSE:To provide a highly efficient shuttle type line printer, by driving a hammer bank by a linear motor equipped with flat coils and separating the flat coils into a direction converting one and a constant speed controlling one while respectively providing separate exciting circuits to both coils. CONSTITUTION:A flat movable coil type linear motor 100 is arranged to the lower part of a hammer bank 2 and a flat coil 109 is mounted to the hammer bank 2. The hammer bank at the time of operation repeats straightly advancing/ reciprocating motion by a shaking measure such as a shaking edge signal and a position signal due to a linear encoder. The hammer bank 2 performs shaking motion by the guide mechanisms 3 provided to both end parts of a shuttle stand 300. The exciting circuits of flat coils 109a, 109b are separated to introduce a hammer bank driving/exciting circuit separation system wherein the constant speed controlling flat coil 109a is operated by a first exciting circuit 10 and the direction converting flat coil 109b is operated by a second exciting circuit 20 and, in parallel thereto, the transistors of power amplifying parts for the flat coils are respectively connected by a bipolar system and a unipolar system. |
