PURPOSE:To obtain the titled emulsion usable for general-purpose applications in a simple and safe manner, by heating a specific resin to temperatures higher than its softening point into a liquid followed by gradually adding, while agitating, pressurized water. CONSTITUTION:When a resin emulsion comprising (A) 30-69.9wt.% of a resin with a softening point of >=50 deg.C (B) 69.9-30wt.% of water and (C) 0.1-5wt.% of a surfactant is to be produced, a liquefied resin formed by heating the resin A to temperatures higher than its softening point is agitated under pressurized state in an agitator consisting pref. of high-pressure homogenizer with a circulator. During this process pressurized water is added gradually to the system, the resin emulsion thus formed being left at rest and cooled followed by returning the atmosphere to normal pressure, thus obtaining the objective emulsion. |
