In a machine body with a horizontal bed (10) and a vertical column (12), a vertical rigid wall (14) is rigidly connected to the bed (10) and the column (12) for bracing and stiffening. The bed (10), the column (12) and the wall (14) are cast in one piece from a reaction-resin concrete. The wall (14) gives the machine body high bending and torsional resistance at low weight. In addition, the wall (14) serves to accommodate guides and supporting devices for functional elements of the machine tool, which in this way can be arranged spatially one above the other.
