PURPOSE:To prevent the accuracy of control from deteriorating, by decreasing the drive speed of a step motor for adjusting the ratio of steering of rear wheels to front wheels, at the time of detection of stepping-out of the motor, and by setting an initial value for the drive speed, depending on the corrected drive speed, at the time of restarting. CONSTITUTION:A steering device has a step motor A for adjusting the ratio of steering of rear wheels to front wheels. The motor A is regulated by a steering ratio control means B in accordance with a prescribed steering ratio characteristic. A means C for detecting the stepping-out of the step motor A is provided. When the stepping-out is detected by the means C, the drive speed of the step motor A is decreased by a drive speed adjustment means D and the drive speed corrected by the adjustment means is stored in a nonvolatile memory means E. At the time of restarting, an initial value is set for the drive speed of the step motor A by an initial value setting means F depending on the corrected drive speed stored in the memory means E. |
