PURPOSE:To prevent the internal pressure of a container becoming excessive by a method wherein a heat-insulating material is arranged in a pressure- releasing piping arrangement, said heat-insulating material is broken by the pressure of helium evaporated when pressure is released from the heat-insulating material, and the helium gas in the container is released to outside. CONSTITUTION:A helium container 3 is equipped with a pressure-releasing piping 13 arranged between the coil-placing space of a helium container 3, containing s superconducting coil 1 and liquid helium 2, and a pressure-releasing device 11. A plurality of aluminum-deposited mylers 15 are provided in the pressure-releasing piping 13 as a heat-insulating material 14. Then, when the super-conducting coil is quenched, the pressure-releasing device 11 is opened by the boosting of the inner pressure of the container 3 due to the evaporation of the liquid helium. At the same time, the aluminum-deposited mylers 15 are easily broken by the flowing out helium gas, and the gas flow-passage of the caliber almost same as the inner diameter of the pressure-releasing piping 13 is formed. As a result, the gas releasing path with which the pressure boosting generated when the superconductive coil is quenched can be suppressed is obtained, and the penetration of heat in the normal state can be made small. |
