A securing device for doors having a first latching arrangement including a door-mounted bolt 3 and a frame-mounted stop and a second latching arrangement having a frame-mounted bolt 25 and a door-mounted stop 8, wherein the first latching arrangement is manually operated and the second latching arrangement is remotely operated. The securing device is particularly adapted for use in train carriage doors.
